On Friday night, we had a Thanksgiving banquet with our international friends from around the world. Although Thanksgiving is an American holiday, people still like to come together and eat food. Someone imported turkey from somewhere in the country, and was able to feed a huge group of us.
Tomorrow, we will have a Thanksgiving lunch with a small group of friends. We also have some friends arriving that morning from the States. No turkey this time, but I made a chicken stuffed with Chinese sticky rice. Hopefully, it turns out ok being cooked in a toaster oven.
On Thursday night, instead of having turkey, we had some friends over for hot pot. Here is our spread:

You may notice that the broth is red. People here like their hot pot spicy. Alvin and I now prefer spicy to regular chicken broth. Also, I made cooked ginger chicken on the side of the pot.
It was going well, until we had a black out. That may be the worst thing to happen during hot pot dinner because our food needs to be cooked by an electric pot. After about fifteen minutes, the lights came back on.
Here is a quiz. Guess which hot pot food is Alvin's favorite and which one is my (Bethany's) favorite:
A. Fish Balls

B. Crab Sticks

C. Beef Slices

D. Golden Mushrooms, Napa, Tong Hao
