One piece of advice I received from my sister-in-law was that I should take some time for myself. She recommended to take a shower (and since I am not doing the yuezi, I have been partaking) to get some "me" time.
This advice has been invaluable. At night, when the baby is crying, I ask Alvin to just take over for the next 30 minutes, and then I take a shower. In the shower, I can't hear any crying, and am always surprised when I come out and then re-hear the loving noises of my daughter.
Do you have any other good advice to keep the sanity for both mom and dad?

I totally agree! Never have I enjoyed my 'shower/grooming' time so much before having a baby! Once you get the nursing thing down pat, take that time for 'me' time too - rest, read, pray, etc. I read somewhere that it's like a built in 'break time' from the busy-ness of the day.
great advice--it's so true that just being able to take care of yourself even in the smallest way makes a huge difference.
For me, just having any bit of quiet or alone time--going outside for a walk, visiting a cute neighborhood, reading from the big book, lifting my thoughts up, and now gardening lifts my spirits
So happy to hear, Bethany!!!
