In the last few days, we've tried to take Meliya out for a short walk each day - just to get us all outside for a change, and to get Meliya some sun. On Monday, we had to bring Meliya to the hospital, too, to get her weighed and checked by the pediatrician.
And so, Monday was a day of many firsts. We took Meliya to a tex-mex restaurant. She saw the peds wing of the hospital for the first time. She had her first Starbucks experience (well, her first one outside of the womb). And she rode on a bus for the first time. Granted, she was asleep in the sling for pretty much all of these first-time events. But it's alright... when she's old enough, we'll tell her about what a fun outing we had.

this post is outrageous!! as in - i read it, and i was outraged! who drinks their beverage of choice BEFORE going to starbucks?!?!?!?!?

@Carol: I agree. That's like eating right before coming to my house for dinner. Unacceptable. But unfortunately, there was nothing on the menu for her. We went to another Starbucks yesterday, and this time Meliya had her drink "for here." Still, it was an off-the-menu item.
@Michelle: Yup. Beijing has a tex-mex restaurant which is pretty decent. But it's also got a great gourmet salads restaurant and some pretty good sushi.
i only go to Starbucks now if i absolutely have to. i can't think of an example. oh yeah...girl.
my beverages of choice: Naked Juice/Odwalla or water. =)
You looked like you were dozing off there, mate. Must be all those sleepless nights? ;) Just kidding. You looked so natural mate and Meliya looked so comfortable. :) We can't wait to meet her! (and you and Bethany too, of course!) :)
