and I did nothing.
So I spotted the thief again, and this time he stole something. He was about 20 feet away, and he was behind a guy on a bike. The victim bought some vegetables on the street, and then put his change in his jacket pocket. Immediately, the thief sticks his hand in the victim's pocket, and takes the change. The victim then rides away on the bike without even knowing he has been pick-pocketed.
It happened so fast, and I was behind the butcher's counter when it happened. I asked the butcher if I should stop the thief, and she said that I should only stop it if it is your friend, or else the thief would get mad that you interfered. I asked other local friends, and they said the same thing. If it is your friend, the thief would forgive you for interfering, but if it is a stranger, he would get mad.
What would your community say a person should do when they see a thief? What would you do?

I wonder if I would go up immediately and tell the guy who just been pickpocketed what you saw and let him to decide if he should chase the bad one. Bethany, you have sharp vision and on alert all the time, good for you.
I think you should befriend this thief. =)
