A New Gift/Toy/Addiction

One of our astute readers noticed in Bethany's puzzle picture that there was a new, red toy in the background. Yes. We have... an espresso machine.

New Toy

When we met up with our friends in Xi'an, they had an espresso machine which they said they had rarely used and would like to pass on to us. So, how could I refuse? (Thanks SO MUCH, R+E!)

We brought it back here to our city, and I have been drinking somewhere around 2 lattes a day. I'm slowly getting better at making the foam just right, and I'm beginning to work on basic latte art.

Here is what I drank just before writing this post...

didn't mom say you were changing to decaf?!

Michelle:

Mom just sent us (err... me) some decaf. (Thanks, Mom!)

But drinking decaf is not the same thing as switching to decaf. The decaf is simply for drinking in the late afternoon and evening. :) This way, I can drink 3 lattes a day rather than just 2... haha.

Amber:

You know, we never even thought of that for the top shelf. I checked the other day, and it does actually get pretty warm! But we don't leave the machine plugged in long enough to really warm up the mugs. Instead, what I do is fill the mug first with a few ounces of hot water, and swirl it around (like they do at SBUX when you ask for your drink in a "for here" mug). :)
