T Minus 7 Days

If all goes well, then, exactly one week from now, we will be getting off of an airplane and arriving in country. Surreal. This is really happening. It's crazy to think that, in a week, I will be submerged among a people of a different culture and language. A week from now, "simple" tasks like going to the bank or mailing a package will be countless times more difficult, yielding countless more reasons to be frustrated. All that... beginning in T minus 7 days.

Between now and then, there's still quite a bit to do - some things more urgent than others; some things more important than others. (urgent and important are not the same thing)

I think we're going to make it (I'm generally pretty optimistic). I don't think our making it will be based on our own strength or wisdom or preparation. But I do think we're going to make it.

We appreciate our friends and family all over the country (and world) who are remembering us and lifting us up, and who are sending us their encouragements (all the while with a healthy amount of caution as they choose their words).

We're almost there. And we're glad you're coming with us.
