After I took my last final, I got home, and I relaxed, by doing something I think is relaxing: Cooking.
That night, Alvin and I cooked 8 dishes for our classmates. We had 12 friends come over. Two of our Korean classmates also brought food: jap chae and ddeokbokki.
We cooked: brisket, pumpkin & potato, lion's head, pickled radish, mapo tofu, kung pao chicken, tofu and lamb, and ginger chicken.
On Friday night, some local friends came over and cooked for my friends and me. The made four dishes: two cold vegetable dishes, stir-fried beans, and stir-fried potatoes. It was delicious. I made 4 pizzas for the kids who came.
On Sunday, I cooked 9 dishes for some friends coming over. I made some repeats of my dishes on Monday. I made lion's head, kung pao chicken, broccoli, tofu and celery, mapo tofu, stir-fried chicken with the bone, sesame oil spinach, five spice beef, and egg & tomato.
After all the cooking, I was exhausted, but I still really enjoyed the time cooking. I am getting faster at preparing and cooking. On Sunday, I finished all the dishes 15 minutes before everyone arrived, which was 45 minutes faster than I expected. Oops. That meant that by the time people sat down to eat, some of the food already got cold. I need to get a clock in my kitchen.
