Back in 2002, when I was traveling in Singapore, I sat outside one evening in the light rain so that I could take some pictures of the distant lightning. It's one of my favorite pictures, mainly because I loved my Singapore trip, and I remember squatting in the drizzle for 10 minutes shooting slow exposures over and over again until I caught one with lightning.
A few weeks ago, I got a message through my flickr account from somebody who works for a department within Singapore's National Energy Agency - they publish an e-magazine, and they wanted permission to use my lightning picture for one of their articles.

wow, how did they find you about the picture you took for yourself to admire?
very cool picture. it is interesting to me, too, that they were able to see your picture on your flikr account. do you know how that works? hmmm...
Nice pic.
Joy has a collection of cloud pictures that she has taken.
I've had a few of my photos (Forth Worth & Dallas) used by online travel guides now. I think they find photos just by searching on Flickr, probably by tags like "Singapore". Congrats though! It's very exciting!
